The World project is developing a global identity verification system that uses iris-scanning technology to confirm an individual’s humanity while maintaining privacy. This system aims to differentiate real people from AI and enable secure, anonymous online interactions. It is designed to support fair digital economies and prevent fraud in an increasingly AI-driven world.

The context
We recently completed designing the rebranded website for World. The rebrand and redesign was necessary to make the project feel more inclusive — for everyone. It was a challenging undertaking as the website is large and there were strict deadlines.

Our role
Microfeller helped World grow from 100 to over 10 million verified users in a few years. This time we collaborated with Tools for Humanity, Flabbergast and Replicable in a massive rebranding effort.

Design approach
When redesigning the World’s website, our foundational principle was that the design should be understood by millions. Thus, it was essential to make it both scalable and accessible. Towards that end, we made sure the website can handle all screen sizes, since there is a lot of mobile traffic.

Focus on performance
We put significant effort into optimization, resulting in faster load times. This is crucial for user engagement and making the website available to everyone around the world.
Our focus on performance also extends to the way we operate as a team. Our workflow on this project fully embraced Agile principles. We were flexible and made quick adjustments on the fly, allowing the marketing team to efficiently make changes at any stage in the process.

What’s to come
We’re not done yet — we’re continuing to work on the World project on a daily basis. We have several big launches planned for the future. The World brand will continue to evolve, and we are excited to do our part.
